A Quiet Escape by the Sea, Just an Hour from Tallinn

Meretuule Holiday Home is located on the western coast of Harju County, just an hour’s drive from Tallinn. Surrounded by pine forests, sandy wild beaches, and nature reserves, it offers something increasingly rare in Europe: space, silence, and untouched nature.
Our holiday house is ideal for couples, families, nature lovers and photographers. It features a private home spa with a Finnish sauna, steam sauna, and outdoor hot tub — a perfect place to relax after hiking or wild swimming. While the house is nestled among trees and does not have a sea view, you can hear the sound of the waves and walk to the nearby shore within minutes. The forest provides shelter from coastal winds, creating a calm and cozy environment.
Whether you’re visiting Estonia for the first time or returning to discover its western coast, Meretuule is an ideal base for exploring wild nature, bird habitats, and authentic local culture.

A Unique Natural Environment

Nõva Nature Reserve
This large and diverse protected area combines coastal dunes, pine forests, bogs, wetlands, and rare plants. You can find wild berries, mushrooms, and orchids in season. The reserve is home to several lakes such as Toatse, Mustjärv and Allikajärv, and is particularly rich in biodiversity. During spring and autumn migrations, birdwatchers can spot thousands of geese, ducks, swans and even white-tailed eagles.

Alliklepa Landscape Protection Area
Right next to Meretuule, this quiet zone conserves coastal meadows and forests that are ideal for nesting birds, foraging, and slow walks. It is one of Estonia’s best-kept nature secrets.

Flora & Fauna
In the nearby forests and wetlands you may encounter roe deer, red foxes, badgers, elk, and even lynx in remote areas. Birds include black woodpecker, cranes, owls, ospreys, and many arctic waterbirds during migration. Wild berries and mushrooms can be freely picked in season.

Beaches and Wild Swimming

Alliklepa Beach

Just 3 km from the house, this wild beach is quiet, natural, and untouched — with no cafés or umbrellas. The sandy shore and shallow water make it ideal for wild swimming, sunset walks and peaceful relaxation.

Keibu Beach

A bit further up the coast, Keibu is a wide and soft-sanded wild beach backed by forest. Popular with nature travellers and campers, it offers a remote feel with great views of the open sea.

Nature Trails and Hikes

Peraküla Hiking Area (RMK)

Located within the Nõva recreational zone, this well-marked trail system takes you through forests, lakes, and all the way to the sea. It’s a great way to explore Estonia’s quiet natural landscapes. Wild berries and mushrooms can be found in late summer and autumn.

Pakri Peninsula Trail

A dramatic coastal hike along 24-meter limestone cliffs with sweeping views of the Baltic Sea. Ideal for photographers, geology lovers and anyone seeking scenic solitude.

Culture & History

Padise Monastery and Manor

Just 30 minutes away, this 14th-century Cistercian monastery and its neighbouring manor house offer a fascinating look at medieval life in Estonia. The ruins are well preserved and full of atmosphere.

Haapsalu Old Town & Promenade

About 90 minutes away, this charming seaside town is known for its wooden architecture, castle ruins, promenade and romantic cafés. A perfect day trip from Meretuule.
